We had the incredible experience of climbing to the rooftop of Africa and summited at daytime, when we could fully take in the grandeur of the views and glaciers, in picture perfect weather conditions.
Thanks to Thomson Safaris’ Grand Traverse Route, we were able to overnight at Crater Camp during the full moon. On the Grand Traverse it was possible for us to experience several days of un-crowded trekking and we even had some campsites all to ourselves. This unique treat became much more apparent during the final two ascending days, when we intersected with the more “public” trail systems and crowds of many people!
We could not have asked for a better experience and more fun than we had during the entire trek! All this would not have been possible without our perfect support team and the happy group of people guiding us up the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.
