MY PORTER STORY IS SIMPLY ONE OF GRATITUDE
I work for WaterSmart Software, so every day I read about the challenges of providing clean water around the world. As part of my once-in-a-lifetime adventure with Thomson, I raised money for the non-profit Water for People.
My porter story is simply one of gratitude for the difficult job of transporting and preparing clean water for food preparation and for staying hydrated on the mountain.
Water is scarce, heavy, difficult to transport, and takes time and energy to ensure it is safe to cook with and drink.
I am grateful for all of the porters, but especially those who provided water for the entire crew all along the way - and particularly at the highest elevations where water was scarce.
