THE PORTERS MADE MY MILESTONE BIRTHDAY
Celebrating a milestone!
I had a big milestone birthday in the coming year and decided to finally trek Kilimanjaro as part of that milestone self-check.
The porters had formed two lines with an opening between them and start singing the Tanzanian birthday song “cakie-o, cake, cakie-o". With everyone happily singing along, I looked around and here come my porter holding a birthday cake with my name on top. Needless to say, I was blown-way; I had ever anticipated a celebration so amazing at 15,213 feet. The porters were just incredible; wishing me a birthday as we all had bites of the delicious mountain-made cake. The extraordinary porters of Kilimanjaro made my milestone birthday and an unbelievable lifetime memory! Asante, Asante!
