The trip was amazing, and exceeded all of our expectations. It was over too quickly.

Our guides were great, very knowledgeable and we felt like we were in good hands. Abel did an excellent job as our head guide. I loved picking his and Respicius’s brain about the mountain and all the other treks they have done! Respicius has done 5 of the 7 summits, and I loved hearing about his experiences. It was very interesting to learn about the Maasai and Loishie would answer all my questions and tell stories. I will miss our hiking conversations. Jackson was great too. Overall very impressed with the guides!

Pascal Kamili, our cook, did a fantastic job with our meals. We’re used to Top Ramen when camping, so this was fine dining! All the meals were great, but the soups were amazing! Since getting back I have been trying to duplicate his veggie leek soup, I’ve gotten close, but it’s still not the same.

I wanted to take Severini, our waiter, home! There was something super special about Severini. He was the first one we saw in the morning – he brought us coffee or tea with a smile, and while that’s part of his job description, it was just the way he did it. He was very genuine, kind, and there was just this great energy about him that I can’t put into words. When we stayed in the Crater, we had popcorn at 18,800ft – who does that? When Severini brought it I just started laughing because I thought it was so ridiculous (in the best way). Pascal, our cook, made a delicious chicken noodle soup that night, I didn’t have much of an appetite, but it was so good! Everyone on the team was great. The porters always had smiles on their faces.

Overall the trip was amazing! We met people who we became friends with and I’m really thankful for that. I felt well-informed by all the info you sent us, and felt like we were well-prepared. We had a great time and would do it again in a heartbeat!
