THEY WERE MY BEST FRIENDS
I can't say enough about the Thomson Safaris Guides, Support Staff and Porters. This picture was taken at Lava Tower, by this time they these guys were not only my guides, but they were my best friends. From left to right, Joel who always carried the medic bag, me Gary Iles, Assistant Guide George, Head Guide Sam, Assistant Guide Gamma. I enjoyed their spirit, knowledge, dedication and their encouragement to the ones who needed it most. I have never met any group of people that worked harder than the porters on this trek. I have trekked on all seven continents and have never met a nicer, friendlier, more knowledgeable or harder working group of guys then the Guides, Staff and Porters that work for Thomson Safaris, Kilimanjaro Trek. Even my driver Peter, who I spent a day with touring prior to starting the trek.
I was fortunate enough not to need their assistance in making the climb, but it was reassuring to know that all I had to do is ask. Each afternoon when we arrived at our camp, we were greeted with smiles, high fives, encouragement and welcomed snacks and drinks. These people, guides, porters, cooks, waiters and my driver Peter made this vacation!
