Have you seen MTV’s Summit on the Summit: Kilimanjaro yet? If you have, you may have noticed a few fleeting shots of a familiar logo — the Thomson gazelle — appearing throughout the hour-and-a-half documentary.
Thomson was honored to be the outfitter for this inspiring climb, which brought together celebrities, activists, and mountaineering experts to raise awareness for the global clean water crisis.
Led by Thomson Treks guides, the team included high-profile participants such as accomplished mountaineers Jimmy Chin, and Melissa Arnot, musician Kenna, actress Jessica Biel, actor Emile Hirsch, and environmental advocate Alexandra Cousteau, among others. Despite facing harsh weather conditions, the entire group successfully reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro — an extraordinary achievement for such a large and diverse team.
As Melissa Arnot remarked, “This is the largest group I’ve ever seen have 100% success on the summit of any mountain.”
The entire team at Thomson are incredibly proud to have played a role in this meaningful expedition. It wasn’t just a climb — it was a call to action. The journey highlighted the urgent need for access to clean water around the world and reminded us all of the power of determination, teamwork, and purpose.
