Keeping You Informed
The safety of our guests and staff is always our number one priority and informs all our decisions. In today’s uncertain landscape, we understand that travelers are more careful when managing their travel plans and may have a few more questions. We are here to support you every step of the way.
We continue to monitor the local and global impacts of COVID-19 and are updating our policies and actions accordingly. Click for the Standard Operating Procedures from the team in Tanzania. Please continue to refer back to our website for ongoing updates.
Vaccinations Required for All Guests
For travel as of November 1, 2021, all Thomson guests will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. It’s the best, safest way we can all get back to traveling the world responsibly.
A simple snapshot of your CDC vaccination card will do, showing the date(s) and type of vaccine you received. If we do not receive valid vaccination proof, or you prefer not to receive a vaccination, you will unfortunately not be able to participate in your trip.
When one million vaccine doses arrived in Tanzania in early August, guides and staff got in line immediately. Considered front-line workers, your guides wanted to do their part – for their own health, the safety of their communities and the well-being of visitors like you. Now you can rest assured that your fellow travelers will also be vaccinated. We can’t wait to welcome you to Tanzania!

We know many of you are still dreaming of Tanzania and are eager to begin planning. We’re just as excited to welcome you! Whenever your travel plans might be, we are here to help and will make the process as easy as possible.

Informed Decisions
We are continuing to stay up to date on advisories and recommendations from the CDC, WHO, State Department and preferred airlines. We encourage you to stay informed on these as well.
If you have already booked your trip with Thomson Safaris, you can expect to hear from someone on the Thomson team in the months leading up to your departure to discuss possible options for postponing.
In the meantime, the team in Tanzania has been working tirelessly to develop new procedures and protocols for future trips, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to Tanzania.

Reducing the spread of COVID-19 remains a challenge for communities around the world. This is especially true in rural Tanzania, where the high infection rate of the virus poses a threat to vulnerable communities. We support the work our partners are doing to reduce a risk of infection and create lasting resilience in their communities.
