The safety of our guests and staff is always our number one priority and informs all our decisions. In today’s landscape, we understand that travelers are more careful when managing their travel plans. We are here to support you every step of the way.
A Note from our President
What a month it has been.
Like you, we are shocked at how quickly the world has changed in response to COVID-19. And like you, we have been watching, waiting and adjusting our course as events unfolded.
Over nearly 40 years of operation, we’ve faced many challenging events that threatened our ability to help people travel. And after every challenge, international travel has always bounced back in full swing. While we strongly believe it will do so again, we can’t ignore the fact that this moment is unprecedented and there is a lot of uncertainty.
Here is one thing that we do know for sure: nothing is more powerful than hope.
Hope is what keeps our employees working tirelessly for our guests, setting up desks at kitchen tables and taking phone calls in the company of children and pets. Hope is what keeps us dancing, listening, adventuring and imagining in ways that never seemed possible before. Hope is what keeps us dreaming of our bucket list adventures to Africa, even when we can’t venture beyond our front doors. In a time when travel is what many of us are wishing for most, our passion to connect you with the world is stronger than ever.
If we could, we’d instantly transport you to the endless plains of the Serengeti for a breath of fresh air. But for now, we’ll continue to share some of our favorite videos, photos and resources on Facebook and Instagram to help evoke that same feeling from far away. It’s one small way we’re hoping to keep the dream of Africa alive right now, and bring #OurHomeToYours.
Whether you traveled with us decades ago or are new to our community, you’re a part of our family. So let’s navigate this unknown the way families do: by sharing, leaning on each other, staying open and staying connected.
From our family to yours,
President of Wineland-Thomson
Frequently Asked Questions
What are your refund policies if I choose to cancel?
Should you decide you are not comfortable traveling now, we are allowing unprecedented flexibility: You have until 35 days before departure to transfer, penalty-free, to a future date. This applies for trips before October 1, 2020.
*Please note that guests are responsible to pay any price differences that are incurred with their future trip.
What happens if my trip is cancelled?
In the unlikely event your trip is cancelled, your trip manager would immediately contact you. We’d assist in transferring the full cost of the trip to another departure date, and offer you an additional 5% in Thomson Safaris credit. Exclusions may apply.
If I cancel my trip, will my flights be refunded?
If you booked your flights on your own, please contact the airline directly.
If you booked your flights through Thomson, your trip manager will work with the airlines to change or cancel your flights. Please note that every airline has its own cancellation and refund policies, so we cannot guarantee you will be refunded.
What if I’m interested in booking a trip now?
We are providing extra peace of mind with our Trip Protection Promise:
- Reserve space and commit to your dream by July 31, 2020.
- You will be free to cancel at least 35 days prior to departure to receive a 100% credit for future travel.*
*This policy is valid for new bookings departing before December 31, 2020. This offer ends July 31, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST. Additional exclusions may apply. If you are already booked on a Thomson Kilimanjaro trek and/or safari and have questions, please call us.
Let’s keep communicating. Let’s stay informed. And let’s continue to explore the world safely!
