Vanessa O’Brien completed the Seven Summits challenge with Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa and plans on completing the Explorer’s Grand Slam when she reaches the North Pole next month.
Dr. Scott Olitsky, who raised money on two Thomson Safaris’ Kilimanjaro treks for HHT asked us to carry 7-year old Molly Dunne’s photo to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in order to fulfill items off her bucket list.

Marathoner and Thomson Safaris Kilimanjaro trekker, Megan, ran a fantastic race in Moshi’s Kilimanjaro Marathon in February. Placing 24th, she was the first non-African woman to finish.
At 78, Helga set a goal to climb Kilimanjaro and became the second-oldest woman ever to reach the top.
She said “It came as a big surprise to me that I am the second oldest woman to successfully have reached the summit. I’m sure it is only thanks to Thomson Safaris’ superb crew.”
