This remote and pristine region is a private wilderness area. Its unique geography, location outside the park, and local culture make it a perfect destination for true exploration.

Day 1: Arrive Arusha

Upon your evening arrival into Kilimanjaro International Airport, Thomson Safaris will meet and transfer you to your Arusha lodge.

Overnight: Arusha Lodge

Day 2: Arusha / East Serengeti Eco-system

Depart after breakfast on a flight to the eastern Serengeti. Continue your journey into the remote wilderness of Tanzania by heading to a private nature refuge, an exclusive area for Thomson guests, in the Serengeti ecosystem. Here, you will venture out to the first of many hiking excursions in the bush.

Day 3: East Serengeti Eco-system

Enjoy an early morning exploration on foot. After lunch, gain further insight into the local culture by visiting a Maasai women's collaborative and a Maasai boma. Take another nature walk before dinner this evening, and then experience the unique thrill of a nighttime wildlife viewing drive.

Day 4: East Serengeti Eco-system

Today you’ll walk far and wide, searching for wildlife, following tracks, and enjoying the scenic beauty around you. After another delicious dinner, gather around the campfire to listen to traditional folklore from a Maasai storyteller.

Day 5: East Serengeti Eco-system / Arusha

After breakfast, depart on a mid-morning flight to Arusha where you will be picked up and transferred to your day room. Relax today and meet up with your Kilimanjaro trekkers this evening, depart on an evening flight home, or continue on with other services (TBD).
