Reserving Space
Our groups are small, so space is limited. We recommend that you call as early as possible to ensure space is available on your desired departure date. Many guests book about a year in advance. Call us at 1-800-235-0289 to reserve your space.
Deposits
A $500-$1000 non-refundable deposit will hold your place for up to 91 days prior to trip departure, and extensions require a minimum $300 additional deposit.
Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted for your trip deposit.
Payments
You will be invoiced upon making a reservation and full payment is due 90 days prior to the first land day of the trip. Payment is accepted as follows: 1) U.S. Dollar check posted to our U.S. office 2) by wire transfer to our account at the Cambridge Trust Company, Cambridge, Mass.
Single Accommodations
Lodges base their prices on double occupancy, with a single supplement for solo travelers. If you are traveling alone and would like to share a room, every effort will be made to match you with a roommate. We will invoice you for the single supplement initially, and refund the supplement if you are matched with a roommate.
Add-on Airfare
We have exclusive rates with Delta/KLM and are happy to arrange your flights, round trip from the U.S., through Amsterdam into Kilimanjaro (JRO) and home. Please call us for itinerary and pricing details.
Cancellation and Refunds
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to Thomson Safaris. At the time we receive the cancellation, all moneys will be refunded less the following cancellation charges, deducted from the total package price.
- Up to 91 days before departure: Deposit
- 90-61 days before departure: 50% of the package price
- 60-46 days before departure: 65% of the package price
- 45 days or less before departure: 100% of the package price
For December holiday departures, cancellation policy is as follows. Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to Thomson Safaris. At the time we receive the cancellation, all moneys will be refunded less the following cancellation charges, deducted from the total package price.
- Up to 121 days before departure: Deposit
- 120-91 days before departure: 50% of the package price
- 90-61 days before departure: 65% of the package price
- 60 days or less before departure: 100% of the package price
Disclosure
Please note that no partial refunds will be given for unused meals, hotel rooms, airport transfers etc., for any reason whatsoever. Thomson Safaris reserves the right to increase the tour price in the event of cost increases due to changes in airfares, currency fluctuations, park fee increases or fuel surcharges. Thomson Safaris reserves the right to alter the tour without notice.
Thomson Safaris is not responsible for expenses incurred by trip members in preparing for the trip (e.g. visa fees, immunizations, insurance, equipment, etc.) or for any necessary additional travel arrangements should you embark from home before the group departure date. Accommodations are subject to change.
Last Minute Bookings
If you are considering joining a trek within 90 days before departure, there are a few additional things you will need to know. Please call us as soon as possible so that we have the best chance of securing availability for you, and please read through our Last Minute Booking considerations.
