Reserving Space
Our groups are small, so space is limited. We recommend that you call as early as possible to ensure space is available on your desired departure date. Many guests book about a year in advance. Call us at 1-800-235-0289 to reserve your space.
Deposits
A $500 per person, non-refundable deposit will hold your place for up to 91 days prior to trip departure. Private and custom trips require a $700 per person deposit.
An additional $200 deposit is required for each optional trip extension, and for all of our December Holiday departures.
Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted for your trip deposit.
Payments
You will be invoiced upon making a reservation and full payment is due 90 days prior to the first land day of the trip. Payment is accepted as follows: 1) U.S. Dollar check posted to our U.S. office 2) by wire transfer to our account at the Cambridge Trust Company, Cambridge, Mass.
Single Supplement
Each trip has a single supplement fee for those traveling without a companion. However, if you are traveling alone and would like to share a room, every effort will be made to match you with a roommate. We will invoice you for the single supplement initially, and delete the charge if you are matched with a roommate.
Add-on Airfare
All airfares quoted are based on international round-trip airfare from Boston.
Our airline partners, Northwest and KLM, also have flights available from more than 100 gateway cities throughout the U.S. If you are traveling from a city other than Boston, please call us to get a quote from the city that is closest to you.
If you would like to visit Amsterdam prior to or after your trek, let us know and we will book your flights accordingly, pending availability.
Cancellation and Refunds
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to Thomson Safaris. At the time we receive the cancellation, all moneys will be refunded less the following cancellation charges, deducted from the total package price.
- Up to 91 days before departure: Deposit
- 90-61 days before departure: 50% of the package price
- 60-46 days before departure: 65% of the package price
- 45 days or less before departure: 100% of the package price
For December holiday departures, cancellation policy is as follows. Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to Thomson Safaris. At the time we receive the cancellation, all moneys will be refunded less the following cancellation charges, deducted from the total package price.
- Up to 121 days before departure: Deposit
- 120-91 days before departure: 50% of the package price
- 90-61 days before departure: 65% of the package price
- 60 days or less before departure: 100% of the package price
Disclosure
Please note that no partial refunds will be given for unused meals, hotel rooms, airport transfers etc., for any reason whatsoever. Thomson Safaris reserves the right to increase the tour price in the event of cost increases due to changes in airfares, currency fluctuations, park fee increases or fuel surcharges. Thomson Safaris reserves the right to alter the tour without notice.
Thomson Safaris is not responsible for expenses incurred by trip members in preparing for the trip (e.g. visa fees, immunizations, insurance, equipment, etc.) or for any necessary additional travel arrangements should you embark from home before the group departure date. Accommodations are subject to change.
Last Minute Bookings
If you are considering joining a trek within 90 days before departure, there are a few additional things you will need to know. Please call us as soon as possible so that we have the best chance of securing availability for you, and please read through our Last Minute Booking considerations.
